A Coordinated System— From Stringer to Cap

Complete Stair Solutions

Stair Treads & Landings

Solid hardwood and engineered stair treads in white oak, maple, walnut, cherry (others on request). Return nosings, closed/open tread options, and mitered landings are sized to your rise/run. Faces are sanded to finish-ready grit; edges stay crisp for clean stain lines. Paint- or stain-grade risers coordinate with the spec.

Handrails & Stair Railings

Comfortable grasp profiles sized to code, with eased edges and smooth transitions across changes in pitch. Our stair railings include volutes, over-eases, goosenecks, and returned ends; choose post-to-post or over-the-post paths to match layout, code, and style.

Newels

Box newels with Craftsman, Shaker, or paneled details; turned newels for traditional entries. We right-size cap and shaft dimensions to ceiling height and stair width so proportions feel balanced in both foyers and open galleries.

Balusters

Paint- or stain-grade wood balusters, or iron patterns with matching shoes/knuckles—kitted by run for quick spacing and inspection. Alternating single/double knuckle or basket rhythms create visual interest without clutter.

Style Families That Scale Correctly

Classic Craftsman:

square newels, square balusters, eased-edge rail; honest joinery with calm lines

Transitional:

box newels with subtle reveals; square or tapered balusters; streamlined fittings

Traditional:

turned newels/balusters; rail profiles that echo crown/base vocabulary

Modern Minimal:

low-profile rail, square newels, slim iron lines that keep sightlines open

Kiln-Dried Stability

Stain-Grade Warmth White oak, maple, walnut, cherry—selected for color/figure continuity. Knife-true edges and properly prepped end grain help stain lay evenly and wear beautifully.
Paint-Grade Precision Poplar/MDF placed where each performs best for crisp profiles and minimal telegraphing on risers, skirts, and box newel faces.
Kiln-Dried Stability Moisture programs tuned for interior conditions common to our markets. Stable stock keeps nosings tight, rail joints quiet, and long skirt runs clean through seasonal swings.

Code-Smart by Design

We plan compliance into the package so field time is installation—not improvisation:

We’ll flag stair-to-door headroom conflicts, landing depth, and newel locations early so framing, drywall, and inspections stay coordinated.

A Simple, Predictable Process

1) Consult

Share plans, finish targets, species, geometry, and dates. We confirm rail path, newel positions, and baluster pattern, then align on code details.

2) Takeoff

Counts by flight/landing/balcony with fittings, returns, and terminations called out. Long-lead items (special fittings, iron patterns) flagged early.

3) Estimate & Dates

Transparent pricing plus realistic windows you can schedule around. If timelines tighten, we’ll suggest alternates that protect both look and schedule.

4) Production & QC

Knife grinding, rail/fitting fabrication, tread/landing builds, dry-fit of critical joints, verification of pitch blocks and finish prep.

5) Delivery & Field Support

Jobsite-ready bundles staged where work begins. Need a small fill to keep momentum? We turn it fast and coordinate with the superintendent.
