MDF Doors

Why Choose MDF for Paint-Grade Perfection
For the ultimate in customization, our MDF doors (medium-density fiberboard) are the perfect choice. They’re available in a wide variety of standard profiles – including flat panel, raised panel and raised molding – plus virtually any custom look you desire.
Want to create something truly unique? Add stain-grade wood, metal or laminate inserts. Have us engrave a logo. We can even build your door with a different look on each side.
Our MDF doors are as substantial as a solid wood door and offer outstanding sound insulation. They’re laminated using two pieces of super-refined MDF, which creates a remarkably stable construction. In addition, since each door face is constructed from one piece, the panel will never shrink.

Built to Install Cleanly—Consistent Reveals, Faster Trim
We install a hinge block (see picture) in the core of our doors so hinge screws won’t pull out the way they can with lesser quality composite doors. And our MDF pocket doors are among the only ones on the market to include an engineered block (1” x 3 1/2”) that runs the length of the door to prevent warping.
Doors come pre-sanded and primed on all sides with a high-build primer. They require only light sanding before painting to remove any oils and marks from handling.

MDF vs. Wood— How to Decide
Choose custom MDF doors when the goal is a seamless painted environment with modern or transitional profiles. Choose wood when you need stain-grade character or heavy figure. Many projects mix: MDF for most interior doors and wood for a few feature spaces—your PM can guide a balanced specification.

FAQs
Are MDF interior doors durable?
Yes—when properly finished and handled, MDF provides a tough, smooth surface ideal for painted interiors.
Do you supply slabs or only pre-hung MDF doors?
Both. Slabs are available, but pre-hung MDF doors significantly reduce install time and improve reveal consistency.
Can MDF doors include glass?
Absolutely—ask about 1-lite to multi-lite patterns with clear or privacy glass.
What sizes and thicknesses are available?
Standard and tall options; 1-3/8″ and 1-3/4″ are common. We’ll advise on hinge upgrades for taller or heavier units.
